Privacy Policy

ChoreImp helps households share and finish their chores. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We try to collect only what the app needs to work.

Information we collect

• Your account. When you sign up or sign in, we receive your name, email address and profile picture. If you sign in with Google, we receive only that basic profile information from Google.
• Your household. The household name, members’ display names, colours and avatars, roles, and any PINs you set. PINs are stored in a protected form, not as plain text.
• Your chores. Chores, rooms, schedules, assignments, notes, supplies, points, and the history of who completed what and when.
• AI Clean Coach. When you ask the Coach for a plan or help with a task, the details you give it (such as rooms, available time, and the roles or ages of the people involved) are used to produce the answer.
• Technical information. Basic logs such as your IP address, browser and device type, and error reports, used to keep the service secure and working.

How we use it

• To run ChoreImp: sign you in, show your household’s chores, and send reminders.
• To generate Coach plans and step-by-step help when you ask for them.
• To keep the service secure, fix problems, and improve it.
• To respond when you contact us.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show advertising.

What other people in your household can see

Members of a household can see that household’s members, chores, assignments and completion history. Your personal account details, such as your email address, are not shown to people outside your household.

Children

Children do not need their own accounts. A parent or other adult creates and manages a child’s profile inside the household, and is responsible for what is entered for that child. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Who we share information with

We use trusted service providers that process information on our behalf:

• Clerk, for sign-in and account security.
• Neon, for our database.
• Vercel, for hosting.
• An email service, for reminders and account emails when those are enabled.
• An AI service provider, to generate Coach responses when you use that feature.

These providers may only use the information to provide their service to us. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety and rights of our users and the service.

Optional connection to InventoryImp

If you turn on the InventoryImp connection, only the information you choose to sync, such as household supplies and the shopping list, is shared between the two apps. You can turn it off at any time.

Google user data

ChoreImp’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google sign-in only to identify you, and we do not use that information for advertising.

How long we keep information

We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we will remove it, except for anything we are required to keep by law or for security.

Security

We use industry-standard protections, including encrypted connections, to safeguard your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can view and update your information in the app. You can also ask us to access, correct or delete your information by emailing choreimp-support@googlegroups.com.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as ChoreImp grows. When we make important changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
